Always Lacking by Penny Chavers

I’m always lacking – no matter what I do for God, I still feel like I’m not good enough.  I’m an imperfect person.  My flesh gets in the way constantly.  Sometimes it’s because I don’t have physical strength to do the things I would like to do for the Lord.  But, other times, I feel like my faith level is low and try as hard as I can to believe for great things to happen, I still doubt.  I don’t want to doubt but I still do.  How do I increase my faith?

There are times when I feel like I’m not praying enough because life happens and gets in the way — so then guilt comes in.  It’s a cycle and then frustration comes along because of this cycle.  If I don’t read my Bible for a certain length of time or pray for a certain length of time, guilt will come in and plague me.  When I pray for certain things to happen and I don’t see the answer, my faith level gets low.  I don’t understand why and then I feel like it’s because I’m not good enough.  I’m not doing all that I should be doing – it seems to go back to not having enough TIME to do everything.  It’s a constant battle.

BUT THEN I’m reminded that He is not looking for PERFECT people.  If we were perfect, we would not need the Lord.  He said He is our strength and gives strength to the weak.  He is only looking for willing vessels who will humble themselves before Him.  I’m so thankful for that.  He will also give us faith to believe when our faith is low.  He carries us through the valleys when we can’t make it through by ourselves.

An Unopened Book by Penny Chavers

AN UNOPENED BOOK is like a treasure

that has not been found.

The writer of the book has poured out their heart

in written form to share with their readers.

But what good is that

if the book is never opened.

Maybe it is just what

the reader needs to read.

It could be a book that stirs their heart

or moves the reader in a way that motivates them

to make a positive change in their life.

Such a life change could be missed out on

if the book is never opened.

Sometimes the would-be reader

will treasure the book

by keeping it in their favorite bookcase

and may even dust it off occasionally.

They may say to themselves,

‘Oh, I need to read that book one day.’

But yet that day never comes.

Life takes over and steals their time

so the book remains unopened.

There are many books that have

treasures waiting to be found.

Some are simple heart-warming stories

that make us feel good.

Some are action stories or mysteries

that entertain us.

Some may be informational

that provide us with knowledge

about our health or hobbies.

More importantly though are those

that provoke us to change

the negative aspects in our lives.

Those that motivate us and inspire us

to make a difference in our own life

as well as the lives of others.

Of all the books that remain unopened,

the most important book that seems to stay closed

is the Bible — God’s Holy Word.

The book that was written

and paid for with blood.

The blood of the cross of our Savior

as well as the blood of all those

who died for the sake of the cross.

The Bible is the greatest treasure of all the books.

Because in it are the stories that were written

by those who poured out their hearts

to share with others to make a difference.

And all inspired by God through the Holy Spirit.

There are packed into this one book

many books of all kinds –

action, mystery, romance,

biographies, informational, history,

prophetic, heart-warming, poetry, and more.

Every type of book that you can imagine all packed into one.

And the best part is —-

every jot and every tittle has been written

and inspired by God for a specific purpose.

Become a reader and treasure-seeker and

open the unopened books

and acquire the hidden treasures within the covers.

Words that Release by Penny Chavers

Be careful of the words you speak.   As it says in Proverbs 18:21, Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.  And it also says in I Peter 3:10 “For he that will love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.”

We can speak life to someone with our words or we can speak death to them with our words.  Have you ever noticed that when you are already having a bad day and someone comes along and says something negative to you like “wow, you look awful” or even worse, they come up to you and start lashing out at you because they are wounded by something that you or even someone else said to them, how that you makes you feel even worse which sometimes even makes feel sick physically?  And sometimes, you may be fine or even in a good mood and someone comes along with a negative attitude and starts telling you everything that is wrong in their life and before you know it, you are suddenly in a foul mood or in a depressed state.   It is that stress response in our brains.  When we hear good things like someone compliments you on a job well done or they tell you how nice you look, we begin to feel much better — it causes us to smile and smiling release good endorphins (Laughter may also stimulate and produce endorphins which can increase a resistance to pain).  Smiling relaxes our muscles but frowning and sadness cause tension and wrinkles.

Even the airways can release negative emotions and feelings in you by the content of the news they are reporting.  The news has become so bad and so negative that I hate to even turn it on.  It is so depressing.  You may think that it is not affecting you; but, if you really pay attention to how you are feeling before and afterwards, you will realize that it really does affect your outlook on life and have negative effects on you physically.

We can even release words of death over ourselves by the “vows” we speak on a daily basis.  We will constantly say things like “I’m never going to get over this illness” or “I’ll never be good enough to do that” or “I’m just not as good as everybody else.”  These are word curses that we speak over ourselves and therefore are releasing curses over ourselves or someone else.

Instead of releasing words of death, we need to release words of life and blessing.  We can actually bless ourselves.  We should be praying “I bless myself today with good health” and “I bless my finances today.”  Also, we need to bless others in the same manner.  We can release blessings over our family, our friends, and even those we come into contact with but may not know personally.  This world needs us to speak and release blessings over people.  People are sick and dying physically, financially, and spiritually all over the world.  We live in a broken world, a broken society, and sad to say even a lot of our churches are broken.  Many have broken covenant with God and have fallen away.  Why?  Where does all this brokenness come from?

One of the main issues today is that “hurt and wounded people hurt and wound other people.”  Because they are hurt or feeling rejected by others, they lash out and hurt and reject those who are the closest to them whether it be family, friends, church family, whoever.  Sometimes, it is so bad that they even go out and hurt perfect strangers and leave innocent victims in a path of destructiveness.  It is like a domino effect of getting hurt — hurt others — others hurt even others — and the domino effect just continues with seemingly no end.  BUT GOD can heal all wounds and RESTORE and RELEASE life into those who are hurting if they will accept and receive that restoration and healing into their lives.

Let’s get free!  Let’s begin speaking words of life because words do have consequences in one way or another!  So I bless you all with good health, prosperity, and especially I bless you spiritually that you will draw close to the one who loves you the most — God who gave His only Son so you may live!  Selah (pause and calmly think about that).

Witty Inventions by Penny Chavers

Well, one of the daily post words is “witty.”  So this word immediately makes me think about what our pastor says during the offering.  Every Sunday, when we take up offering, we speak our part and then he speaks a blessing over us.  It is really awesome!  Our part goes like this:

“This is my tithe.  It will do what God says it will do.  The windows of heaven are open over me and my house and such blessings have been released I don’t have adequate room to contain them.  I am of the seed of Abraham and the oath God swore to him is my inheritance.  Therefore, I release my tithe and offerings into the fertile soil of Church of His Presence.”

Then he speaks a blessing over us which includes blessing our finances, our health, job situations, “witty” inventions, whatever the enemy has stolen from us that he has to pay back seven times, and then he ends with blessing Israel and our country including our president.  It is pretty cool!

So, I just pray and believe that every reader of this blog will also be blessed — blessed in your finances, blessed in your health, blessed in your home, and I also speak that the devil has to pay you back seven times what he stole from you and that you also will have “witty” inventions and that the Lord will reveal mysteries to you.  I also speak blessings over your family including your children and grandchildren and all those you hold dear to you.

Be blessed — In Jesus’ Name!

It is a Critical Time by Penny Chavers

Hurricane Irma has created a critical disaster destroying everything in its path.  It is causing the largest evacuation order in Florida since Hurricane Wilma in 2005. Evacuations are not fun but critical and necessary for those living in the path of this monster hurricane.

Stores and gas stations in Florida are running out of supplies and gas but if you are living in Florida and need to evacuate, DO NOT let that stop you from evacuating.  President Trump has issued the okay to lift regulations to allow trucks to get to the gas stations as quickly as possible and all tolls in Florida have been lifted so people can get out quicker.

If you live in Florida anywhere in the state, you do not want to hesitate.  This storm is nothing to play with.  Even the German definition of the name Irma is War Goddess.

And if anybody out there is even considering a “hurricane party” think again.  Don’t be foolish with your life or the life of a loved one by not evacuating.  It is highly critical that you take the appropriate precautions.

Those of you who know how to pray, join me in prayer for those who are in the path of this monster storm:

“Father in Heaven, I pray for all those throughout the state of Florida as well as the Carolinas, Georgia, and any other state that may be affected by this critical storm.  I pray for their safety first of all and that they have their every need taken care: food, water, transportation, fuel, and lodging wherever they are or are heading to.  I pray that those evacuating have safe travels from beginning to end.  Secondly, I pray that, by some miracle (and I do believe in miracles) that their property will be protected like the wise man who built his house upon the rock and not the sand.

Thirdly, I pray for all of those in the islands who have already lost lives or property.  I pray for peace for those who have lost loved ones in this storm.  And I also pray for restoration of those who have lost property to this storm.  Father, I know that you can multiply the funding to meet the needs of these people just like you fed the multitudes of the 5,000 and the 2,000 and had baskets full of food left over.

And lastly, I pray for all the victims of the floods in Texas as they try to rebuild their homes and their lives.  Father, You own the cattle on a thousand hills and You can meet the needs of all with no problem.

The enemy of our soul wants to steal, kill, and destroy but Father, You sent Your son to bring life and peace.  I pray for peace for all those who are in lack and are going through a storm whether literal or figurative.

I pray these things in the Name of Jesus,”
